Ludlow Skatepark Spreads Sunshine to Teens and Tourists

Ludlow Skatepark , located close to Okemo Mountain Resort and Okemo State Forest, gives teens and tourists the opportunity to enjoy their hobbies in the sunshine.

The skatepark was constructed in Dorsey Park, after CommonLand Solutions secured a $190,000 Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative grant for the redevelopment of the area. Skaters have continued community efforts to raise money for the upkeep of the park, including hosting fundraiser events to promote the cause. According to the event website, local skaters dream of a "site excavation, drainage, system, new concrete, resurfaced ramps, and ultimately create a safer, more fun, challenging, and environmentally-friendly course."

Ludlow Skatepark has been open for over 25 years and has seen a wide array of visitors and tricks, from newcomers who can barely stand on their boards, to pros showing off their kickflips and ollies.
